Kerry has been with the bank since 1989. She graduated from Kansas University with a degree in Accounting and Business Administration, then was an FDIC Bank Examiner for 4½ years before joining the bank on a full time basis. Over the years, Kerry has held many positions with her current responsibilities being Human Resources and Regulatory Compliance. Kerry had worked on a part time basis for many years while in high school and college, starting in the bookkeeping department then moving to a teller position which was her favorite part of banking, still to this day. “I truly enjoy my current responsibilities, but I very much miss the customer interaction which was what I loved most about being a teller’.
The need to provide a high level of customer service was ingrained early on and although the bank has grown significantly since her days as a teller, the importance of providing a level of service not found elsewhere remains a high priority to Kerry. “We are all well aware of the number of options for financial services available and truly appreciate the customers that have given us the opportunity to earn their business.’
When not at the bank, Kerry enjoys spending time with her family, particularly outside and with water involved. An animal lover, she supports many local organizations that care for animals as well as volunteers for The Cat Association of Topeka. Kerry relishes the opportunities she and other bank staff have in sharing their knowledge, time and talents with the community, particularly with the area schools and always with an eye for potential staff members to join the SLB Team!
