Kimberly Acheson, Southwest Branch Manager
Banking and going to the hair salon don’t seem to have much in common, but for Kim, being a full time hair stylist taught her how to listen to her clients’ needs and build lasting relationships. She worked full time at the salon until 2016 when she accepted a position with Silver Lake Bank as a Customer Service Representative. Kim also has an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. “I’ve done a lot of crazy things in my life but completely changing careers was one of the scariest decisions of my life. But, I was eager for the change and when I doubted myself my family was there rallying for me.”
As a CSR, Kim gained experience in the banking industry. She opened a variety of account types and worked directly with Health Savings Account customers from nearby businesses. When SLB transitioned to a completely new computer system, Kim studied every piece she could to better serve her customers and co-workers. Her hard work paid off and in 2018, she was promoted to Branch Manager at our Southwest location. Kim works directly with customers every day and is the Administrator for all Health Savings Accounts.
Kim is also a member of our Young Guns group that volunteers at local non-profit organizations. She really enjoyed time volunteering at Harvester’s. The group prepared packages of food to distribute to families in need. Outside of Silver Lake Bank, Kim can be found with her husband, Ryan, and her dogs Gomez and Remy. They all enjoy their annual summer vacation to Table Rock Lake and Kim always returns to the bank a little sunburned. The whole family are also hardcore Jayhawk, Chiefs and Royals fans.
